The History

This beloved Association was organized under the leading of the Holy Spirit by Portia T. Minter, Visionary/Founder and with the assistance of a few close friends and family members in 1994. They were; the late Sandrel Tigner-Harris, Clerk, Alunda Marks, Bookkeeper, Gloria Jackson, Secretary, and Shirley A. Reid, Vice Moderator. Terrell Minter, and Gregory Hicks were members of the Advisory Council. These individuals embraced the Vision and understood the Mission. We applied for tax exemption status with the IRS and it was granted to us after several months of hard work. The Vision was birthed in my spirit while I was attending Beulah Heights Bible College of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Samuel Chand was President at that time. The Lord gave me favor and therefore many of our meetings were held on campus and several students and staff became members. As we prayed and grew in numbers, we decided to hold three session per year. The Sessions consisted of praise and worship along with seminars. Installation Services were held in January for new officers and departmental directors and the spring, summer and fall sessions were held throughout the year focusing on various Themes. We held membership drives, and had several great teachers and speakers, 14 Departments, T-shirts, Picnics, and a lot of fun. There was a great sense of friendship, fellowship, encouragement, healing and camaraderie.

Our key scripture was taken from Romans 8: 1; (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Our Colors: Purple, Black and White.

The Vision

The Vision was realized in my spirit on December 28, 1993 while meditating  in I Samuel 14:1-15 and II Chronicles 16:9a.  The subject of my meditation was "Unleashing God's Power".  As I was thinking upon God's Word something wonderful quickened in my spirit.  It was the forming of a New Ministry that would bring healing to Christian Women who had been  wounded spiritually.

As I reflected on the birth of the THE VISION, it did not "just happen" but it happened over a period of time.  I do not know how long it took for this birth to occur....all I know is that I ha been in spiritual pain for several months.

I sought the Lord for confirmation.  I had to be sure that it was of HIM and for the Body of Christ.  I received three confirmations. The first confirmation was during a prayer service with five other women preachers.  The second was during a series of dreams I had in the same night which caused me to be awaken to write down. "Thus Saith the Lord" and third, toward the end of a 21-day fast.

"I have seen in my spirit thousand of women being healed, encouraged, inspired and helped by the Lord through THIS MINISTRY.

To God Be The Glory,

Pastor Portia T. Minter
