We had a great Word today at the Christian Jubilee from Min. Alunda Quaye.
"Jehovah, The Only True God", Josh. 24:1-15, key V. 15. She started off by providing some recent archeological findings in Egypt which revealed mummies who were considered as deities in ancient times. Then she went on to advise us that Idolatry had always been one of Ancient Isreal's prevalent sins. Showing that even Abraham's Family were idol worshippers before he was called by God. It was a major problem then and even today.
Today's idols can be anything from people, false gods, to things. She mentioned I Jn. 2:15-17, that we should love not the world neither the things that are in the world and related it to Romans 1: where the Apostle Paul, warned against loving the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever.
I don't know about you, but I recently saw a statue of a former politician on the news that seemed to have been gold, it was being brought down a hallway. I was stunned and felt pity for those who have been so deceived in following a man instead of the Only True God and His Word. The True God, as the minister said, is Eternal, Holy, filled with love, grace, and truth...... He is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. The closing question was, Who or what are you serving, or worshipping! The closing declaration was, "As for me and my house, we will serve only the True and Living God".
My heart was sadden on February 10, 2021, when I learned of the passing of another great woman of God, Rev. JoAnn R. Murphy, who transitioned on February 8, 2021. She made such a great impact on my life back in the day when I was young in the Ministry. She has been such an inspiration to me, as a counselor and teacher. She was a good example of strength, wisdom, and integrity. May she rest in peace like a river, and have joy unspeakable in simply knowing that she has been promoted from labor to reward. I will miss my dear friend.
